I had heard we were getting a bit of bad weather this evening but nothing to this extent. Over the past few hours pictures have emerged of the damage due to stormy conditions. I came home to find all my trees exactly where I left them. Not one turned over or fallen 🙂
So if you live in Ireland and have bonsai, make sure there secure and safe. And if you don’t just be careful. Here are some images today from Cork. Thankfully no one has been seriously injured.
So the time has come for our first club meeting on Friday the 20th of September at 8pm in the Blackrock Hurling Club,Church Rd, Blackrock, Cork. So now that we have the time and Venue confirmed, all we need are Bonsai Enthusiasts. You are more than welcome to attend and bring a friend who may have interest in Bonsai. The aim of this Club is to have fun with bonsai, learn in a group setting and most importantly make a bonsai community in Cork.
For our first meeting we will get to know one an other and if each person would like to bring one tree with them just for discussion. It doesn’t need to be a 100 year old White Pine (If it is please bring it 🙂 ) If its a well developed or just material bought from a garden centre, please bring one tree if you can. It is just to discuss bonsai and go home with some new ideas for your tree.
It should be a good night discussing everything bonsai and hopefully the beginning of our own Bonsai Club. If you need directions don’t hesitate to contact me or Piotr. All details are above on the form.
Was on lunch today and decided to take a stroll up to Shandon with my trusty camera. It was my first time ever going to the top of Shandon, even though i lived around the corner from it growing up. Amazing views of the city and a great craic ringing the church bells.
Daly’s Bridge is really famous in Cork, and is better known as the Shaky Bridge. It is kind of an icon of Cork City spanning over the banks of the Lee. Thought it would be nice to add something ‘Pure Cork’
Just an update on whats happening with the new club for Munster. We have the date set for Friday the 20th of September. The meetings will take place in Cork as that is the area with the most people interested so far. This could alternate in the future. The venue is still to be confirmed, but will be confirmed in the next two weeks. I have a list of people interested so far and myself and Piotr will be in contact over the next two weeks. If you are interested and would like to join or have a friend or family member which you think would be interested don’t hesitate to contact us. Below is a flyer which Piotr made while on holidays, dedication or what 🙂 These will be seen around Cork and surrounding areas. Anyway all the details are below to get in contact or you can contact me also through this blog or email at firstname.lastname@example.org . About time we will have a community of entusiasts to meet, share ideas and knowledge, do workshops and just have a craic.
